The Web Portal for payments for our WS/FC customers will shut down at 5:00 PM on June 30th, but will reopen at 8:00 AM on July 1st.  This shutdown is to allow us to reconcile
our account balances and start the new 2017/2018 fiscal year. We apologize in advance for any inconveniences, but thank you for a good 2016/17 fiscal year. We look forward to serving your customer needs in the upcoming year.

The Permit Office will be closed on the first Wednesday of every month from 7:45am-9:45am. Permits will not be issued during this time.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., with no new walk-in customers accepted after 4:15 p.m. daily.

The Inspections Division of the Planning and Development Services Department is a City-County agency responsible for reviewing and inspecting building related activities throughout all of Forsyth County, with the exception of Kernersville. Our staff reviews plans and issues permits for electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building activities consistent with the codes adopted by the State of North Carolina. Additionally, our staff issues permits and enforces zoning regulations consistent with the adopted zoning codes (Unified Development Ordinances) of Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, Clemmons, Lewisville and Walkertown.

The Inspections Division of the Planning and Development Services Department has activated a new online permitting system called BuildIT. BuildIT replaces InspectNet.
