Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, To Be Determined

The Northeast Suburban Area Plan Update was presented to the Planning Board on June 8 and was recommended to City Council. The Winston-Salem City Council held a public hearing on September 5, 2017 and voted for adoption of the plan for the portion of the planning area within its municipal boundaries. The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing and vote on the adoption of the plan at a yet to be determined date in the near future.

The Northeast Planning Area [pdf/4.95mb/1p] is approximately 9,700 acres and is bounded on the north by Old Hollow Road (NC 66); on the east by the Winston-Salem boundary line; on the south by Business 40/US-421; and on the west by Germanton Road. The planning area includes a large portion of the Northeast ward and a small part of the East ward, as well as some unincorporated land in Forsyth County.
