N.C. State Law (130A-309.10(F) 3) prohibits the disposal of yard waste (e.g., leaves, grass clippings, tree limbs, brush, etc.) in sanitary landfills. Therefore, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities operates two permanent yard waste drop-off and processing sites:
- Overdale Yard Waste Facility at 4010 Old Milwaukee Ln. in Winston-Salem [Map]
- Forum 52 Yard Waste Facility at 180 Northstar Dr. in Rural Hall [Map]
Both of these facilities, operated by contractor Wallace Farm, accept yard waste from the general public, private companies and City of Winston-Salem Sanitation yard waste collection crews throughout the year.

From Highway 52, take the Clemmonsville Road exit. Turn onto Clemmonsville Road (east) to Southdale Road. Turn right onto Southdale, travel approximately one mile until you come to the first paved street on the left, Old Milwaukee Lane. The Facility is immediately on your right.
