Leaf Composting and Yard Waste Disposal

Free Leaf Compost for Spring 2018 is no longer available for pick up. We have depleted our supply.

N.C. State Law (130A-309.10(F) 3) prohibits the disposal of yard wastes (e.g., leaves, grass clippings, tree limbs, etc.) in landfills. Therefore, the Division operates three permanent leaf drop-off sites: Reynolds Park Road which only accept leaves from city Sanitation crews during the leaf season; Overdale Yard Waste Facility which accepts leaves from the general public as well as the city Sanitation crews throughout the year.

The Overdale Yard Waste Processing Facility is operated through a contract with a private vendor to recycle all wood waste into mulch. For more information, visit us at 4010 Old Milwaukee Lane, or call 336-784-1615.

Note: The Reynolds Park Road Site is NOT open to the public except for leaf mulch distribution which occurs semi-annually.
